The nearest stations are Yetminister (request stop) from Bristol, and Sherborne (London) and the following trains could be met:
Yetminister: 16.18 or 18.14
Sherborne: 16.28 or 17.28

Arriving by Car:
The best way to reach Hilfield (not necessary the quickest) is the following:
Get onto A37 Yeovil to Dorchester road. When traveling south, after about 6/8 miles the road goes down a long sweeping hill and you need to turn left at the Holywell Crossroads (marked Minterne Magna and Batcombe) Follow the road for a good two miles and take the third turning to your left (marked the Friary) ☺ – it is narrow and a steep hill. At the Y junction, bare right and the Friary is another .25 miles through the trees, The carpark is on your right. When traveling North, about 8 miles from Dorchester, there is a ‘golf-ball’ water tank on your right – take the second turning (marked Minterne Magna and Batcombe) and at the T-junction turn right. Follow the road for 1½ miles and take the 2nd junction on the left, then follow route as above☺.
